Passers-by beat up the driver of Andhra Pradesh Minister Ravela Kishore Babu's son Susheel who escaped after they both allegedly misbehaved with a housewife walking on the road at Banjara Hills, the police said on Friday. While the locals handed over the driver, Appa Rao, after thrashing him, Susheel fled the spot, Banjara Hills Inspector B. Murali Krishna said. A case was also registered against the mob which attacked the driver following a counter-complaint lodged by the latter, the Inspector said.
According to the complainant, the woman was walking on the road around 4 p.m. on Thursday when the car being driven by Appa Rao came close to her. “The woman stated that the driver passed a lewd comment. Even before she could react, the Minister's son allegedly tried to pull her hand," the Inspector said. As the housewife raised an alarm, passers-by and locals gathered and rounded up the car. They dragged out the driver and beat him up. Susheel took to his heels, the Inspector said.
