Communist Party of India (CPI) National Secretary K. Narayana on Saturday flayed the Central government policies, which he opined are responsible for the rising prices of essential commodities. Interacting with the media persons, on the sidelines of a party review meeting, Mr. Narayana remarked that despite the decline of crude oil prices, the cost of petrol and diesel have not followed suit, resulting in the burgeoning cost of essential commodities. “Central government is inclined towards saving the corporate sector by encouraging black marketing. Besides this, the value it has offered to democracy is quite evident with respect to the toppling of Arunachal Pradesh govt. and recent arrest of JNU Student Union president,” he said.
