Hyderabad police conducted massive raids in Banjara Hills and Jubilee hills colonies in search of anti social elements as part of major drive against crime in the state capital .
During the 'cordon serach' operations (an area will be cordoned off from all ends posse of police forces with local representatives will conduct house searches to weed out anti socials hiding in these places. 'We arrested 65 suspects in search of 5 colonies with 250 police men' says West zone DCP Satyanarayana.
The drive by Hyd police is to nab the anti socials like criminals, gangsters, terrorists and con men taking shelter in guest houses, slums and colonies in posh areas and commit crimes like kidnaps, blackmails and also rob homes.
Eversince KCR government took over the Hyderabad police conducted such raids in 742 colonies across Secunderabad, Bowenpally, Balanagar, Alwal Mushirabad, RTC cross roads and also other areas of Pahadi sharief, says a senior IG in DGP office. 'Every week we conduct 10 to 20 such raids and search operations with court warrants in our hand' says the police who have participated in several raids.
So far about 3500 suspects have been caught of which 1500 were hard core criminals including gangsters, assassins, kidnappers, ATM robbers, vehicle thieves and rapists who committed crimes in other states and other parts of state and took shelter in Hyderabad.
