Soon after Special Package announcement, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu told he appreciates Centre for what ever assistance it offered so far. He sought all the legal clearances to implement the promises Union Government should implement from now onwards. 'We would be happy if Centre accords Special Status. If not Status, Special Package on par with it should be announced. Else, We willn't be in a position to develop the State,' he told, responding on Arun Jaitley's press conference over Special Package.
Babu recalled Arun Jaitley's assurance on Polavaram Project expenditure and compensating 3 years Revenue Deficit. He demanded centre to set up Railway Zone in Visakha without delay. AP CM opined there willn't be much benefit from allowances announced by Centre. He made it clear Bihar-like package is of no use & Rs 2,500 crore for AP Capital is insufficient. He also wants Centre to focus on delimitation of Assembly constituencies and establishment of Central Institutions.
Notably, Chandrababu Naidu commented, 'Let's see how Pawan Kalyan will react on the Special Package'.
