Gaiety marked Holi celebrations atop the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara. The conventional Holika dahan was ceremoniously observed on Tuesday night, and the devotees rollicked in the colourful water sport since morning. Hundreds of North Indian pilgrims enthusiastically took part in the celebrations that lasted till afternoon. While the elderly were applied 'tilak' on their forehead, the young revellers indulged in the water sport.
With the TTD management imposed restrictions in the stay during the annual Brahmotsavams, many North Indian devotees, particularly from Karnataka and Mumbai, of late, have made it a practise to observe Holi atop the temple town, which coincided with the grand finale of the annual float festival of Lord Venkateswara.
