The State government will conduct beach festival, the first at Manginapudi beach, this year. Excise and BC Welfare Minister K. Ravindra on Friday inspected the beach. “Personnel drawn from different departments will make arrangements for the festival that is likely to be celebrated in April or May. It will be designed on the lines of the recent festival held in Kakinada," said Mr. Ravindra.
The Minister said that the existing beach entrance gate would have a new design and at least 25 acres of sea front area would be levelled under the NREGS. “A total of Rs. 1.5 crore will be spent for beautification of the beach area and developing a park on the beach apart from laying an approach road to the beach under the NREGS," he said. The State government had already sanctioned Rs. 2 crore to the Department of Tourism for the development of the beach. The Minister was accompanied by Bandar RDO P. Saibabu and other officials.
