Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be in a big hurry to shift the administration to Vijayawada which he has declared as the new capital of the State.
The government has kicked off operations to shift pivotal government offices from Hyderabad to Vijayawada and Efforts are being made to shift the state level offices of different department to Vijayawada. Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a special committee to look after the issue and the State government has asked the committee to submit its report within 15 days.
As the members of the committee are presently engaged in the relief operations of Vishakhapatnam, they will launch a complete survey on the regions of Vijayawada. The committee will look after the issues like suitable locations for various offices, availability of buildings, rents and other related issues
Some offices are already working from Vijayawada and recently Andhra Pradesh Minister for Municipal Administration Narayana announced that the state would be ruled from Vijayawada within three years. But this will be a very challenging task for government. If the employees have to be shifted to Vijayawada, they not only need offices and working atmosphere, but also residential facilities and education for their children. A lot of other arrangements have to be made for their living in Vijaywada.
