In view of upcoming Krishna Pushkaralu, AP Government took up the task of setting up a biggest ghat in India on the banks of the river. The 14 km stretch between Ibrahimpatnam and Vijayawada Durga Ghat will be developed as a single Pushkar Ghat. This could be another record during Naidu's regime.
AP Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma has already issued clear instructions to the officials in this regard. He ordered authorities to take stern action against the encroachers while preparing the Pushkar Ghat and kickstart the construction of Ghats without any delay.
The first meeting to prepare action plan for 2016 Krishna Pushkaralu was held recently. AP Government is keeping the tragic deaths of pilgrims in 2004 Krishna Pushkaralu and 2015 Godavari Pushkaralu in mind. Officials were asked to take adequate measures to ensure the safety of people during the Krishna Pushkaralu 2016.
