Bengaluru-Ernakulam Express derails near Tamil Nadu's Hosur, 11 feared dead. Speeding Bangalore-Ernakulam Intercity Express hit detailed at Belagondapalli at Anekala, border of Karnataka-Tamil Nadu. 11 passengers were killed as derailment left 12 coaches in disarray today morning at 8 am.
Police who recovered 10 bodies from the derailed coaches say death toll may rise as many people were trapped and rescue efforts are underway. Two AC chair cars,two non-AC chair cars were also derailed scoffing to the officials.
Railway minister Suresh Prabhu rushed to the spot and is personally monitoring the situation. Officials are yet to find the cause for derailment. Karnataka and Tamil Nadu sent ambulances to the spot to treat the injured.
