Dongaata - Story
The story is based on the life of Three Men (played by Adivi Sesh, Madhu Nandan and 'Maryada Ramanna' fame Prabhakar) set the trap to kidnap a Star Heroine Sruthi (Lakshmi Manchu) and demand ransom to the tune of Rs 10 crore. Twist in the tale arises when the kidnapping goes horribly wrong. Rest of the story showcases as to what actually went wrong in the kidnapping, and what is the real story behind this chaos.
Dongaata - Star Performance

Lakshmi Manchu is just okay in her role of a Movie Star. Her Comedy Scenes are too loud and all she gets is a thumbs down for the poor show. Adivi Sesh leaves a good impression with his manly looks and matured performance. Other Gang Members Madhu Nandan and Prabhakar did justice to their roles. Brahmanandam as private detective is really funny. Scenes featuring Pragathi who appears as Lakshmi's Mom came out well. Jayaprakash gives a decent performance as cop. 30 Years Pruthvi does a brief role. Cameo of Rana Daggubati is fine. One to mention here is Brahmanandam since he stole the entire show undeniably. Jaya Prakash Reddy, Madhu, 30 years Prithvi, Pragathi and many more seasoned comedians and actors made Dongata a hilarious watch with their antics.

Dongaata - Technical Team

Music is scored by three music directors and the songs are passable. Background score is good. Dialogues written are apt and gel with the mood of the film. Screenplay of the film is a huge drawback during the first half. The way story moves ahead during this part lacks clarity.Coming to director Vamsi Krishna, he has done a decent job with his execution. He justifies the second half with interesting twists but falters slightly during the first part. Editing could have been better in the second half. Cinematography is fine. So are the production values.

Dongaata - Analysis

First half is big disappointment, few funny scenes and good dialogues kept it going. Second Half is a bit of relief though with some interesting twists and good performances from Adivi Sesh, Brahmi & Pragathi..Director didn't take much time in establishing the characters or their intensions. The film's plot is revealed within first ten minutes and Brahmi enters the scene in the first reel itself. There is ample comedy to keep things flowing until the interval scene.
