Premam - Story
Vikram Vaatsalya (Naga Chaitanya) is a guy who loves Suma (Anupama Parameswaran) in his teenage and it is a failure love story. It doesn't get in place how hard he try to make so. In his later age after five years, he again loves Sithara Venkateshan (Shruthi Hassan) who is half Tamil and half Marathi. She is a lecturer in the college where he studies. It also fails due to certain circumstances and he leaves her after she is happily married. He then meets with Sindhu (Madonna Sebastian) in his restaurant. He is her childhood crush and he finally marries her. How these love stories happen and fall apart forms the rest of the story.
Premam - Star Performance
No one else could have done this role except Naga Chaitanya. He fits the shoes of Nivin Pauly so perfect. He looked so dashing with little beard during third phase of his life time. Dialogue delivery and mannerisms are so good as college student. After string of flops, Chaitu has proved his mettle. Anupama and Madonna has nothing much to offer. Both of them are so beautiful. Madonna's portions are completely new for audience. Shruti haasan scores as Sitara teacher. She has done a fabulous job once again. Kindly don't compare this with the original. Shruti has nailed it to perfection. Cameos by Venky and Nagarjuna are surprise package. Especially Nagarjuna as Chaitu's dad in the climax is a sweet surprise for most of them. Rest of the supporting cast did justice to their roles.
Premam - Technical Team
Premam has superb production values and cameraman Karthik does a brilliant job in showcasing the various time zones in a superb way. Music is also a huge asset as all the songs sound well and have been shot quite decently. The screenplay is apt as the proceedings have been showcased in a very engaging manner. Dialogues are quite good as they reflect the mood of the youngsters well. Coming to the director Chandoo Mondeti, he needs to be completely applauded for the way he as made Premam. He had enormous pressure on him to successfully remake the film and boy, he has done a superb job with the narration. The way he has added good entertainment and presents all the three stories in a fresh way makes Premam quite interesting.
Premam - Analysis
One the whole, Premam will undoubtedly be the film that will take Naga Chaitanya to the next level as a star. He surprises you with his standout performance and is the sole reason to watch Premam. Romantic songs, entertaining narration and a feel-good nature of the script will surely be loved by the audience big time.
