Akhil (Vikram) is an ex-RAW agent who is assigned with a mission with Aayushi (Nithya Menon) to capture Love (Vikram) who is responsible in the manufacture of speed drug which is filled in Asthma inhalers which gives instant high and unlimited strength for five minutes after its consumption. Akhil and Love has another story in which Love kills Akhil's wife (Nayanathara) in a mission to capture Love. Akhil takes up the mission again with Aayushi to take revenge on Love. Love is the one who is not seen by anyone and is a mastermind in drugs making. How Akhil gets Love?? How he take revenge on Love?? What happens to Akhil's wife?? forms the rest of the story.
Vikram as always gives his best. He delivers his performance top-notch as Ex-cop Akilan Anand and Negative character Love. He carries the burden of the entire movie on his shoulders. He scores in fight sequences too. Vikram's beard get up and his free style fighting resembles Hollywood style. Nayantara is gorgeous as Halena and that's it. She doesn't get much screen space nor scope. For the first time, she has paired with Vikram and the chemistry has been perfect. Nithya Menen as Raw agent has done justice to her role. In her new attire and new role, she fits the bill perfectly. She has done role of Aarushi. Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran have done justice to their roles as supporting cast. Thambi Ramaiah could have done better with comedy portions. He is mostly annoying.
Songs composed by Harris Jayaraj are good but the lyrics chosen made them average. He did a fantastic job in composing background score. It has added lot of depth to the movie. Cinematography by RD Rajasekhar is nice. He captured Malaysia and its locations so well. Editing by Bhuvan Sreenivasan is okay. Stunts and action sequences composed by Anbu Arivu and Ravi Varma are good. Production values are rich.
Inkokkadu runs on a drug which gives instant high and unlimited strength to the consumed one known as speed drug. The drug is introduced with an action sequence involving a 70 year old person in the Indian Embassy in Malaysia due to which Akhil is given mission to find Love speculating a terrorist attack. Akhil takes this mission personal and goes to seek revenge. Director mainly focuses on story and tried not to diver from the story in this half but loses his grip in screenplay at certain portions of this first half. Interval block where Akhil is nabbed by Love and his gang with the use of speed drug. The twist which comes here is surprising and good which makes audience wait for the second half with curiosity on the face. Second half begins with face to face meet of Love and Akhil which is interesting. It goes on an interesting note for 15 minutes and another twist arises which is quite predictable. The next is about how Akhil confront and win over ruthless Love. This portion is highly entertaining. Director has managed to entertain us all with the character of Love. But he failed in writing screenplay tight and gripping. To summarise, Inkokkadu is another experiment from Vikram.
