Jakkanna - Story
Ganesh as a Jakkanna (Sunil) is a happy guy who never forgets others who helped him. He comes to Vizag with his personal works and falls in the love of Sahasra (Mannara Chopra) at the first sight. Bhairaagi (Kabir Dulhan Singh) is a villain who is very cruel and he has no identity in Vizag but people gets fear just the sound of his name. Jakkanna starts searching of Bhairaggi with the help of his picture and meets a group of 50 people for taking the revenge on Bhairaagi. One day, Bhairaagi calls him along his gang, where Jakkanna killed the 50 people to save Bhairaagi. He said that he was helped by Bhairaagi earlier. Who is Bhairaagi? What is the aim of Jakkanna? What is the relation between Jakkanna and Bhairaagi? To Know these answers, one should watch the movie on silver screen.
Jakkanna - Star Performance
Sunil as Jakkanna alias Ganesh is superb. He tried his best to be back to his knack. His comedy timing is perfect and his punches are worth to watch on screen. Mannara Chopra is okay. Her dialogues and her lip movement are hardly in sync. She is just meant to be a glamourous treat for the movie. Nagineedu is good. Kabir Khan is perfect as Bhairaaagi and he did a nice role after so many movies. Chitram Sreenu is okay in his limited role. Sapthagiri is a good humour relief and is in his as usual best. Raghu Karumanchi and Satya are good. Raja Ravindra and Posani are good. Other artists did well.
Jakkanna - Technical Team
Visual are colourful. The music department is handled by Dinesh Kanagarathnam, is just ok. Background score is good. The cinematography of C Ram Prasad complements with the mood of the film. Editing is not up to mark. Editor MR Varma should take care of editing part as there are few dragged scenes in the movie. Production Value is good. There is nothing new in the story line and it is predictable. Dialogues are impressive. Coming to the director Vamsi Krishna, he has done a poor job with his direction. He starts off the film on a promising note and maintains decent suspense till the interval block. But once the film enters the second part, he makes things quite silly and just adds humour leaving the story and narration behind.
Jakkanna - Analysis
On the whole, Jakkanna is yet another routine commercial entertainer that you might have seen many a times in the past. Except for a few laughs here and there, this film has nothing much to offer. This film might find some audience in the B and C centres for the over the top fun it generates. But for the regular and family audience, it ends up as just a below average entertainer and can be given a shot only if you have absolutely nothing to do.
