“I’m honoured. This Padma Award is a big surprise for me as I’ve never expected this award. I feel like this is the perfect recognition for my work”, said Kota Srinivas Rao, issuing a statement upon being conferred the civilian award Padma Sri by the Government Of India.
Born in 1947, Kota started his acting career in theatre and made his cinematic debut in 1978 Telugu film "Pranam Khareedu”.He has acted in over 500 films as a villain, comedy actor, character artist and other many roles. Some of his best roles as a villain were in the films "Ganesh", "Gaayam" and “Chinna”, while he rocked as a character actorr with "Aa Naluguru" and "Pelliaina Kothalo”, "Ready", "Mirapakaya" and "Krishna".
