Universal hero Kamal Haasan's younger daughter Akshara Haasan initially started her career as an assistant director. Then, she tried her luck as actress with Shamitabh, where she romanced Dhanush. The film also starred Amitabh Bachchan was directed by R Balki. With the film flopping at the box office, Akshara didn't get a second chance for a long time. Finally, she was roped in by Manish Harishankar for his directorial 'Lali Ki Shaadi Mein Ladu Deewana'. Akshara's rumored boyfriend Vivaan was zeroed in for male lead. Nonetheless, this movie got delayed or shelved owing to unknown reasons.
Now, Akshara is back to direction department. She is working as an assistant director at her dad Kamal Haasan for the film Sabhash Naidu where her sister Shruti Haasan is also playing a prominent role. Seems like, Kamal has suggested her daughter to pursue direction as career, since no filmmaker is keen on giving her heroine chance.
The film Sabhash Naidu is currently being shot in USA, where the film's story is set. Kamal Haasan replaced TK Rajeev Kumar as director due to latter's ill health. Kamal will revive the popular character Balram Naidu, a Research Analysis Wing operative featured in Dasavathaaram. Ramya Krishna and Brahmanandam are other prominent cast. The makers are planning to release the movie on December 1st.The big question is will any producer in the future dare to introduce Akshara as director, when they aren't keen on giving her another chance as heroine?
