Rajinikanth last release Lingaa ran into huge losses for distributors and exhibitors. Distributors who spent fancy amounts of money to get the rights of the comeback film of the superstar, have incurred huge losses.
The Tamil movie, which was expected to shatter collection records, has bombed at BO.The distributors created ruckus and demands compensation from none other than Rajinikanth. They launched protests in Chennai demanding repayment of their minimum guarantee (MG) amounts.
Now all their efforts were paid off and they got sigh of relief.As per reports Superstar Rajinikanth after consulting with producer rockline Venkatesh has appointed distributor Tirupur Subramaniam, who’s had the experience with several such issues, to settle the matter. Lingaa movie loss making report was submitted to Rajini two days ago by Tirupur Subramaniam and a settlement is expected by end of this week.
Earlier, Rajinikanth had paid the compensation to some distributors when his films "Baba" and "Kuselan" failed to meet their expectations at the box officeWhile the actor had compensated the entire loss suffered for Baba, a full refund looks unlikely for Lingaa.
