Actor Suriya is undoubtedly a Superstar in Telugu States. With the big success of Ghajini, Telugu audience almost owned him as their own hero and since then Suriya always have a good market here. But his last film in Telugu Brothers resulted in heavy losses for the buyers here. But still the actor has his business intact here and it is proved with his tomorrow release, Sikinder.
The Telugu rights of Sikinder were bagged by Lagadapati Sridhar for 11 Crores. All of sudden with Rabhasa postponing from August 15th. Sikinder got a glorious opportunity in the form of a long weekend due to Independence day holiday. Since there is no proper competition, distributors have offered fancy rates for Lagadapati Sridhar and he got 15 Crores from the selling of rights.
Which means Lagadapati Sridhar got a table profit of 4 Crore before the release, a rare feat even established stars are finding it tough.
But at the same time, there is a risk involved for the distributors. 15 Crores for break-even will be a difficult talk if the movie talk is not good. But if the movie manages to break-even, this will further increase Suriya's market in Tollywood.
Samantha is the female lead in the movie.
The movie is 'Anjaan' in Tamil and is having a simultaneous release there. Linguswamy is wielding the megaphone while Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music composer.
