I owe my career to Bapu: Anil Kapoor

Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor flew down to Chennai along with his brother Boney Kapoor, to attend the last rites of filmmaker Bapu on Tuesday. Anil Kapoor's first film in a lead role was Vamsa Vruksham, a 1980 Telugu film directed by Bapu. "Bapu's contribution to my career is significant and I am what I am because of Bapu. My first film as an actor was under him for Vamsa Vruksham in Telugu and later I worked with him again in Woh Saat Din and those films moulded my career," recalled Anil.

"He's like my guru and mentor and I picked up acting tricks from him. I'm completely saddened to hear the loss of one of our country's greatest directors. I've worked with some of the world's renowned filmmakers, but I rate Bapu as the best amongst them," added Anil Kapoor.
