Most awaited Tollywood Films Of 2015

Over 200 Telugu films released last year and the quantum is expected to rise further this year. From historic period dramas, Chiranjeevi's landmark 150th, big ticket multi-starrers, Akhil Akkineni's looks like an huge spread of movies to look forward to in the coming twelve months. But there are a few films that more eagerly awaited than the rest for various reasons and here's a dekko at what to look forward to and why?

A war of visuals No film has created as much buzz as SS Rajamouli' upcoming period extravaganza, Baahubali has managed to. Made with a budget in excess of 100 crores the film is tipped to be the most most expensive Tollywood film with the most breathtaking visuals ever. Then, there is Anushka's Rudramadevi, which is going to be India's first 3D stereoscopic film which will receate the life and times of the 13th century warrior queen, who ruled over the Kakatiya kingdom. The Telugu version of Shankar's upcoming film is going to set the bar for the other to follow. It looks like a three way battle between filmmakers Rajamouli, Gunaskehkar and Shankar. Who will come out on top and make the most visually engrossing spectalce of the year? We will have to wait and see.

A shirtless NTR Besides becoming a father, NTR had a forgettable 2014, but his shirtless makeover in Temper, has caught everyone off-guard. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film has the actor playing a firebrand cop. Can puri help NTR get that elusive blockbuster? Going from the response that NTR's stylish new look has generated, looks like the film has all the trappings of a winner. The sight of a shirtless NTR flashing his washboard abs by the beach must give the ladies a reason to throng to the theatres.

Chiranjeevi's 150th film Megastar Chiranjeevi's comeback to the silverscreen after seven years is going to be the most awaited comeback of the year. For the last six months buzz about the film which will be the matinee idol's 150th has been making headlines. Last heard, Chiru has 'come close' to zeroing upon a script. And if his impromptu stage performance at Memu Saitham, (fund raiser for Hudhud cyclone victims), is anything to go by, he still seems to have all the moves.

Akhil Akkineni's debut Akhil Akkineni's good looks have been the talk of the town for a while now. The 20-something actor who made a cameo appearance in Manam last year is all set for his big screen debut with director VV Vinayak's next. Being the grandson of ANR and son of the most good looking 53-year-old-Telugu-man" Nagarjuna, the guy has some big shoes to fill.

Multi-starrers galore A bevy of high profile multi-starrers are in the offing in 2015. A lot has already been written about Venkatesh and Pawan Kalyan's film already and the film is easily one of the most awaited ones of the year. There is the Telugu remake of the hit Malayalam drama, Bangalore Days featuring "love birds" Siddharth and Samantha in the lead. Bommarillu Bhaskar is directing the movie which also features Tamil star Arya. Tollywood superstar Nagarjuna who jumped into the multi-starrer bandwagon last year is set to share screen with Karthi in their next film directed by Paidipally Vamsi.
