Avika Gor : I don't act for money but for my hobby

Actress Avika Gor, who started acting at the age of 11, is a full-time actress in Tollywood today.

The sex scandal of Swetha Basu Prasad has become a big headache for actresses as they were forced to react on the issue in their recent interviews. After Samantha, its now the turn of Avika Gor (Uyyala Jampala fame).

The 17-year-old is currently essaying the role of a mature bahu in the show Sasural Simar Ka. With the recent controversy surrounding actress Shweta Basu Prasad (who won a National Award as a child artiste for Makdee) being arrested for prostitution, we asked Avika about the pressures to maintain a successful career way beyond one's years.

She says, "Everyone has their agenda for coming to the film industry. I came here as it's my hobby and not for financial reasons. I've always wanted a career that gives me job satisfaction. My family is not dependent on my income."

She adds, "If I work only for money, then I will lose interest in my job and my focus will only be money. So, I try to stay away from the monetary angle as much as I can. I am only 17 and at this age, no one should have to stress about money."

After 'Uyyala Jampala', Avika Gor will be next seen in 'Lakshmi Raave Maa Intiki' which will release in November this year.
