There was a time when Brahmanandam used to carry entire films on his shoulders and if a director could use him well, the film would be a super hit. But Brahmi is getting monotonous in the recent past and is hardly evoking any laughs. His remuneration is also very high at Rs.5 lakhs per day.
So directors are looking for other options. One comedian, who is getting very popular in the recent past is Prudhvi famous for his “30 years industry" dialogue in 'Khadgam'. Directors are replacing Brahmi with him in many films of late. Though he has been industry for a very long time, Prudhvi shot to fame with roles he did in the recent past. He was one of the reasons for the success of films like 'Loukyam'. Even in 'Shankarabharanam', which was released yesterday, his comedy is the only saving grace. His performance as Percentage Parameshwar is leaving audiences in splits and he also seems to have played a very funny role in 'Soukyam'. In the teaser of 'Soukyam' released yesterday, he was seen making spoof of Shivudu character in 'Baahubali'.
Some are predicting that Prudhvi will definitely surpass Brahmanandam very soon. Hope so.
