Time and again, many rumors heard about veteran heroine Sridevi are turning to be just rumors. This time, a popular Malayalam director cleared the air that he never contacted Sridevi for a role in his already hit flick he thought to remake in Tamil.
Screenplay thriller Drishyam did well in Malayalam and Telugu, and universal hero Kamal Haasan will be acting in the Tamil remake of this flick. Original writer-director Jeetu Joseph will be handling Tamil version as well, while former heroine Sripriya directed the Telugu version. It is highly rumoured that makers are considering Sridevi for the police officer role played by Nadia, and if not her they want to settle with Ramya Krishna. But director Jeetu Joseph revealed that he has no intentions to cast either of them.
Anyway this flick with Kamal and Gowthami in the leads will not be going onto floors until Jeetu Joseph gets a clearance from a couple of courts. A Tamil writer claimed in court that 'Drishyam' is his original story, while Bollywood producer Ekta Kapoor alleged a copyright violation. She sued Jeetu saying that that the flick is based on a Japanese writer's novel, for which she holds movie-making rights.
