Shruti Sodhi, who's all set to debut in Tollywood, is playing the role of a journalist in her upcoming film, Pataas. The actress is paired opposite Kalyanram in this action drama which is being directed by Anil Ravipudi. "I'm almost done shooting for the film and it was a fabulous learning experience. Initially, it was difficult to pick up the language but both Anil and Kalyanram were extremely helpful. Luckily, my flair for learning new languages came to my rescue," Shruti recalls.
Before foraying into films, she had worked as a TV host. Admittedly she first visited Hyderabad while doing a travel show.
"When I was hosting a travel show, Hyderabad was the first city we visited. I still remember roaming around Charminar, Lad Bazaar and Hussain Sagar Lake back then. It almost feels like home because I've been visiting the city so often in the past few months. Working in the media was one of the best experiences of my life so far and it has helped me shape my personality. No wonder, I talk a lot," she laughs. Ask her why didn't she continue her stint on TV and she says, "I felt I had extracted whatever I could from that experience and it was time for me to move on. Soon, the acting bug bit me and soon after I moved to Mumbai, I bagged couple of offers in Punjabi films."
The actress, by her own admission, has a firm belief that 'life should be colourful' and inspiring. "Guess what? I graduated with a degree in Philosophy because I knew that I wouldn't get a chance to study the works of great philosophers at a later stage of my life. And it really helped me shape my mind and explore my existence. Life should be exciting. Isn't it?" she signs off.
