Catherine Tresa, who has caught the attention of people in the Tamil film industry after her performance in Madras, will next be seen in Kanithan, in which she is paired opposite Atharvaa.
"Director Santhosh approached me with the story and I liked it as it was a novel idea. The character I play will be in total contrast to the one I played in Madras. I play a very modern girl, who is a journalist. I watched lots of news channels to understand my character in this film, which is an action adventure," says Catherine.

Disclosing that most parts of the film have been shot in Chennai, the actress says that the team has three more songs left to shoot. Catherine is delighted that things are going well for her in the Tamil film industry. "I am grateful to all the sections of the audience and the media for accepting Madras," she says.
The actress is also working on Errabus, the Telugu remake of Manjapai, and Rudramadevi. She says, "Errabus has Vishnu Manchu playing the hero, and is being directed by veteran Dasari Narayana Rao. It is his 151st film and I consider it to be an honour to be a part of such a project. The director has added a little more substance to my character in the Telugu version. We have almost finished the film and only a song is left to be shot."
She plays a princess in Rudramadevi, which is an actual account of the life of queen Rudramadevi. "I play the daughter of one of the sub-kings of the region, and I am paired opposite Allu Arjun's character of Gonaganna Reddy," she reveals and adds that she had to undergo training in sword fighting. But, she says the most interesting part was the dialogues she had to deliver. "Although I had dubbed in Telugu for my first film and can speak and understand the language, delivering dialogues in Rudramadevi was a challenge as the Telugu used is of an era gone by. In fact, some of the words used are proper Sanskrit. Nevertheless, I loved working on it," says Catherine.
