One of his aides at home rushed in as per his instructions and handed over the passport to Rajini, who then board a Malaysian airlines flight which took off at 11:45 hrs, half-an-hour behind the scheduled time. Airport security personnel said the delay in the departure of the flight was not exactly due to Rajini's faux pas but the arrival of the flight from Kuala Lumpur itself was delayed due to bad weather.
While waiting for his passport to be brought from home, Rajinikanth told a lone Tamil television channel reporter, who walked up to him that he was grateful to the union government for conferring him with the Padma Vibhushan honour. Rajini also said he was flying to Malaysia to complete the final schedule of the shooting of his new film 'Kabali'. He would then shoot for the sequel of his earlier hit 'Enthiran', he added.
