Kaaka Muttai dragged to court: Actor Dhanush issued summons!!

Court summons Star Hero for Derogatory remarks

CHENNAI:A Metropolitan Magistrate Court here directed actor Dhanush and Vetrimaran, the producers, and M Manikandan, the director of the National award winning Tamil film Kaaka Muttai, to appear before the court on August 6 in connection with a petition moved by an advocates' association which alleged that the film contained derogatory remarks about lawyers.

According to S Manivannan, president, All India Bar of Advocates Welfare Association, the grandmother of the protagonists of the film makes derogatory remarks against an advocate, in the film.

S Namo Narayanan, counsel for the petitioner, submitted that the advocate profession was a noble one, which the producers and director had insulted in the film.

Such scenes would spread enmity, ill-will and hatred between litigants and advocates, the petitioner said and sought the court to inquire the complaint, examine the accused, conduct investigation and render justice.
