Gone are the days when a movie success is gauged on the number of days it runs in theaters, now collections and openings are parameters of the movie success. Makers are releasing movies in as highest theaters as possible and are trying to milk maximum collections in the first week itself. At most a film business is winding up in the first two weeks of its release.
A movie running for 50 days is a big achievement these days and anything beyond that is a wonder.
But even in this trend, Nandamuri Balakrishna's Legend ran for 175 days. Balayya has achieved this feat in two centers of Ceeded - Proddutur and Emmiganur. Tomorrow is the 175th day and fans are gearing it to celebrate in a grand manner. It is said that a function is being planned in Emmiganur on 28th of this month and Balakrishna is expected to attend the event as Chief guest.
Only two films in the last decade has an extended run of 175 days in Tollywood.
Both these films are of Nandamuri Balakrishna- One being Simha (2010) and now Legend. Incidentally, both the films were directed by Boyapati Srinu and both the films ended up as the biggest hits in the actor's career at that time. With Legend, Nandamuri Balakrishna also became the first hero to enter in to 40 Crore share club among the Senior heroes.
