The Jungle Book is abiding to be strong at the box office in its sixth week, despite a drastic decrease in screens each week, owing to new releases in Hindi and other languages. The Disney live-action/CGI remake has minted Rs 90 lakhs on Saturday and 1.11 crore on Sunday taking total to 179.57 cr nett.
The gross till Sunday is Rs 249.41 cr. The film is set to reach the 250 crore mark by today or tomorrow. In fact, this is the biggest non-Indian film grosser and is first movie to reach the 250 cr mark. With a worldwide gross of $828 million, it is currently the fourth highest-grossing film of 2016.
The Jungle Book has strongly proved that regardless of a language or region, audience always fancy to watch movies with a good content. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film The Jungle Book stars Neel Sethi as Mowgli. Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has lent her voice for the Hindi version of the film.
